How many countries have TikTok Shop? It depends on who you ask and when. TikTok’s press release in May 2026 counted ten European markets, TikTok’s seller page says 13, and blogs give yet other numbers. TikTok’s own numbers don’t have to be wrong. They count different things.
Here is the full list, dated and sourced, and the difference between countries where customers can buy and countries where businesses can also sell. When TikTok Shop might come to Sweden, and how to prepare your store, is covered in our guide to TikTok Shop in Sweden.
Which countries is TikTok Shop available in?
Status as of 14 October 2026. Customers can shop on TikTok Shop in 24 markets: 14 in Europe, 7 in Asia and 3 in the Americas. TikTok does not publish a total. The list is our own compilation of TikTok’s seller page and its transparency report of 31 August 2026 under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA).
“Local sellers” here means that businesses in the country can register themselves on TikTok’s seller page.

The launch dates come from TikTok’s own newsroom posts, except for Mexico, Indonesia and Southeast Asia, where we rely on trade press. A few nuances:
- US: according to Retail TouchPoints, some users had access as early as November 2022, before the full launch.
- Portugal: The Portugal News only reported the launch on 23 June, without giving a start date.
- Indonesia: the first market, but sources give different months in 2021. TikTok Shop closed there in October 2023, after a ban on selling through social media, and came back in December, merged with Tokopedia.
- The rest of Southeast Asia: we have not found a TikTok source, and some blogs say 2021.
Why do sources give different numbers of countries?
- 10: the press release of 28 May 2026 counted ten European markets, including the UK, with four new countries from 15 June: Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland.
- 8: the transparency report of 31 August 2026 says TikTok Shop opened in eight new EU countries on 15 June, so the Czech Republic, Greece, Portugal and Hungary as well.
- 13: the seller page says “Sell across 13 European markets”. Those are the EU countries. With the UK, the total is 14.
- 19: the country selector on the same page lists 19 markets where sellers can register themselves.
- 24: the number of markets with buyers, once Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Portugal and Hungary are added.
What is the difference between a buyer market and a seller market?
In a buyer market, customers can shop in the app, but no local sellers are accepted. The Czech Republic, Greece, Portugal and Hungary are buyer markets. The products there come from sellers in other countries. The Portuguese consumer organization DECO PROteste advises buyers to check where the seller is based, since buying from a seller outside the EU can mean longer delivery times and harder returns.
In a seller market, sellers can register themselves on TikTok’s seller page. That applies to 19 markets, including Germany, Spain, Poland, the UK and the US. In the EU, TikTok sets requirements. As a rule, the business must be registered in the country and an individual seller must have an address there. The warehouse must be in the country, and shipping and returns must stay within it. The seller’s representative needs an EU ID and an address in the country, and the bank account must be in the EU. TikTok can make exceptions for larger businesses.
Anyone with an approved store in one EU country can then use the same registration to open stores in other Shop countries through Sell Across Europe, including the buyer markets. So in the EU, a seller market can have both local sellers and sellers from other Shop countries. Sweden is neither a buyer market nor a seller market. TikTok Shop cannot be used there at all today.
Austria is a case of its own. TikTok’s Austrian newsroom wrote in May 2026 that Austrian businesses could sign up by email from 1 June. The country is not part of the self-registration, and it is not known how many Austrian sellers have been accepted.
Shopify has a limit too. The TikTok Shop part of Shopify’s TikTok app only works for stores in ten countries: the US, the UK, Spain, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Japan and Brazil.
Is TikTok Shop available in the Nordics?
No. TikTok Shop is not available in any Nordic country, and none of them appears in TikTok’s lists.
- Sweden: not on the seller page, in the country selector or in the transparency report, and TikTok has not announced a date. The Swedish trade publication Market wrote in April 2026 that a Nordic launch is being prepared, but gave no date. Blogs claiming that TikTok Shop launched in Sweden in March 2026 are contradicted by TikTok’s own pages. The status and how to prepare are covered in our guide to TikTok Shop in Sweden.
- Denmark: the Danish business organization Dansk Erhverv wrote on 9 September 2026 that TikTok Shop has not yet launched in Denmark.
- Norway: the VAT advisory firm Eurofiscalis wrote on 14 September 2026 that TikTok Shop does not operate in Norway today. Norway is outside the EU, and TikTok’s EU registration policy requires an EU ID and an EU bank account. As we read it, Norwegian businesses therefore do not fit the policy as it stands. Eurofiscalis mentions a program for sellers outside the EU, but we have not been able to confirm it with TikTok.
- Finland: not on the seller page or in the transparency report, and we have found no statement from TikTok. A Finnish blog claiming that Finland got TikTok Shop in February 2026 is contradicted by TikTok’s lists.
- Iceland: not on the seller page, and we have found no source at all about TikTok Shop in Iceland.
Sweden, Denmark and Finland are among the 14 of the EU’s 27 countries without TikTok Shop. The others are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Malta and Cyprus.
Is TikTok Shop available in Switzerland?
No, and no date has been announced. The Swiss retail association Handelsverband.swiss wrote on 9 July 2026 that Switzerland is not yet listed as a supported market. In April, the association had published a guest article saying that a launch is expected in 2026, but without a date and without a statement from TikTok. Switzerland is not in the country selector either. A Swiss agency blog claims that Swiss consumers can already shop through the French market, but we have not seen evidence of that.
What applies in the UK?
The UK has had TikTok Shop for both buyers and local sellers since 2021. According to trade press in September 2026, the plan is that from 19 October 2026, UK sellers can sell to 12 EU markets through Sell Across EU: Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Portugal and Hungary. Ireland is not included.
According to the same sources, a pilot for invited sellers was due to start on 21 September. Sellers must be active, in good standing and have made sales in the last 30 days. At the same time, sellers from the eight EU countries with local sellers are to be able to sell to the UK, using their own shipping only (Ship by Seller). We have not been able to read TikTok’s own page about the program.
Which countries could be next?
Nothing is confirmed. According to EcomCrew, the Chinese trade site Ebrun wrote in August 2026 that South Korea, Saudi Arabia and Australia are planned for the first quarter of 2027, but the report relies on anonymous sources and has not been confirmed by TikTok. The Korean newspaper Money Today wrote in July 2026 that a launch in Korea in 2026 is unlikely.
Canada and Australia do not have TikTok Shop, even though one blog has claimed both got a full launch in January 2026. That is contradicted by the country selector. Marketing Interactive also reported in March 2026 that TikTok Shop had not launched in Australia, and one of TikTok’s executives for Australia and New Zealand said she was not aware of any plans to launch it there. Saudi Arabia was in an early test phase in 2024, according to TikTok, but is not in the country selector today.
On 5 October 2026, TikTok also announced Buy Direct, one-click checkout straight from the feed. According to The Next Web, the checkout works across the app, not only inside TikTok Shop. TikTok has not said when or in which countries the feature will be available, but it is worth watching.
How do you keep track of where TikTok Shop is available?
- TikTok’s seller page. It shows the number of European markets, which countries’ sellers can register and the country selector with every seller market.
- TikTok’s newsroom, globally and in the Swedish edition.
- TikTok’s DSA transparency reports. They come out at least every six months, and the latest, from 31 August 2026, listed the new Shop countries.
- Shopify’s list of countries where the TikTok Shop part works.
- TikTok Shop Academy policies for registration and creators, which list the countries they apply to.
- Trade press and industry organizations, such as ChannelX, Market, Ehandel.se, Dansk Erhverv and Handelsverband.swiss.
Be careful with blogs and SEO sites. They have repeatedly presented unconfirmed launches as fact.
What does this mean if you sell from Sweden?
Today, TikTok is a way to get discovered and send customers on to your own store, through the link in your profile or through ads. The profile link requires at least 1,000 followers or a verified business account. How the buying journey differs from Instagram is covered in our comparison of TikTok Shop and Instagram Shopping.
If you want to try live streams now, with the purchase in your own store, read about live selling for everyday products. A Swedish business can also sell in a country where TikTok accepts sellers, but that requires registration, a warehouse and returns in that country.
What we do
We build fully custom online stores on top of Shopify, with a clean product catalog that works with Instagram and TikTok today and is prepared for TikTok Shop if and when the service opens in Sweden. TikTok’s own seller registration comes on top, and Shopify has to support the country. You own the account and the domain. See our services.
